MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND WHY I’M RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION!

I have been honored to serve the Hilliard community since being elected in November 2019. I thank the people of Hilliard for placing their trust in me.

Some of my major accomplishments as a Council Member are:

• Co-sponsoring and developing the Hilliard Non-Discrimination Ordinance in 2021 with my Republican colleague, Andy Teater, which expanded civil rights protections to people based on sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, marriage, and age status. We achieved a 6-1 favorable vote in a conservative council.
• Sponsoring and advocating for Issue 35, Renewable Energy Aggregation for Hilliard. I formed and spearheaded the Issue 35 Committee leading to its very sound passage in November 2022.
• Working toward the expansion of multi-use paths within Hilliard and connecting to other regional paths.
• Actively championing protection of the Big Darby area and limiting development of the region to maximize protection of this important watershed.
• Responding to resident concerns and taking action as appropriate and necessary.
• Firmly supporting our union and non-union city staff members to ensure their pay and benefits are maximized.

I am conscientious about reviewing all information in each council packet and coming prepared to meetings with appropriate questions and requests for the benefit of our community. I carefully consider and study all sides of issues before voting. In 2019, I ran because I believe Hilliard can truly become a jewel of Central Ohio. Hilliard is well on its way to becoming just that.

I will continue to work hard for the residents of Hilliard with integrity and honesty. Please re-elect Cynthia Vermillion on November 7, 2023.
